Golden Disc Awards to be held in South Korea in 2018

K-pop fans were left confused last week, after JTBC announced via Twiter that the location of the much-anticipated Golden Disc Awards was still to be confirmed. The announcement was made on the day of the GDA pre-selling by local promoters All Access Production.

The Golden Disc Awards are South Korea's equivalent of the Grammy Awards and the likes of BIGBANG, EXO, Super Junior, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, and BTS are among previous winners.

Today (12/5), All Access Production released an official statement revealing that the 32nd edition of the awards show will now be held in South Korea.

The highly-anticipated 32nd Golden Disc Awards that was confirmed to take place on January 10-11, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines, would unfortunately be canceled due to the local Investor’s failure to comply with their responsibility to the owner of the original Golden Disc Awards Ceremony, JTBC PLUS.

Local Production Teams - LUMOS E&M and All Access Production together with HM Entertainment have tried to solve issues revolving the event but all organizing partners have agreed to move the event back to Korea for a more successful show.

JTBC, HM Entertainment, LUMOS E&M and All Access Production is in continuous discussion to hold GDA Wave in the Philippines in the first quarter of 2018 in exchange for the fans who supported it. GDA Wave will be held in the first quarter of 2018 with a high-level celebration of the Golden Disc Awards winning artists.  More details will be announced later.

All Access Production are also giving away tickets to the Golden Disc Awards in Korea.
