It's SUGA's birthday!

Known by many names, like Min Yoongi, Agust D, or even Lil Meow Meow, the BTS rapper is celebrating his 29th birthday on 9 March. To ring in another year, ARMY (BTS fans) from around the world have put together an array of projects and gifts to honour the 'Daechwita' hitmaker.

Creative Projects

Throughout the last week, fans have organised several online projects that unite ARMY from all over the world in celebration of SUGA's birthday, Whether it's handwritten letters or a 15-second rap cover to birthday films, fans are banding together to share messages of appreciation and support to the award-winning producer. 

Taking inspiration from Agust D (SUGA alternative musical persona)'s song 'Moonlight' that talks about contemplating life while staring at the moon, ARMY are putting together an online project where fans share a picture of the night sky and share how their life has changed throughout the years. 

Having shared his fondness of sentimental gifts, ARMY have decided to give SUGA just that through handwritten letters from fans all across the globe. 

ARMY have also organised a RAP GEAR project that calls on fans to live our their inner Agust D by sharing a short rap cover for the renowned rapper's birthday. 

If you know anything about SUGA, it's that he's insanely creative so it's no surprise, his fans are the same. To celebrate his birthday, Filipino ARMY are putting together a birthday film comprising of footage from fans all over the world. 


Charity Projects

Much like SUGA, and the rest of BTS, ARMY are giving back to those in need to celebrate the rapper's birthday.

From five-day fundraisers for those affected by conflicts in North Africa and the Middle East to restoration projects for Filipino villages affected by Typhoon Odette to mental health programs, fans have organised several fundraisers and projects in honour of SUGA.

What's a birthday without a banner—or in this case, a huge billboard? ARMY have pulled out all the stops to wish SUGA a happy birthday, plastering the songwriter's face on billboards in Uruguay to city bus stops around Seoul.
