Chelsea Alley release debut single 'HENERAL' as tribute to Jamir Garcia – listen

There's a new supergroup on the rise.

On 25 December (Saturday), Filipino heavy metal act Chelsea Alley made their debut with 'HENERAL', a tribute to the late Jamir Garcia. It was also written as a reminder that "the connection between friends—that love and bond—WILL cross over even to the next life: that nothing will ever break a bond like that," according to the group.

The band, composed of Slapshock guitarist Lean Ansing and drummer Chi Evora, Arcadia guitarist Ariel Lumanlan, and vocalist John Borja, surprised fans with the new single after sharing teasers over the past few weeks without mentioning the exact release date of the track.

"It all started after having one of the most serious heart-to-heart talks I’ve ever had with Chi over at the warehouse when we began jamming on material," recounts Borja. "I could literally feel the anger, the pain and intense emotion while he was telling me about the immense loss, and I was nearly driven to tears… so as soon as I got home, I started writing all of that, and channeled all of those emotions, and tried my best to capture what I think Jamir what was going through right before his passing."

'HENERAL' was recorded and produced by Ansing, and mixed and mastered by JD Wong of Studio 21:05 in Malaysia.
