Alt-pop artist d4vd has been named as a suspect in a disturbing death investigation involving 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose decomposed body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer.
The vehicle had been impounded in Hollywood for parking violations, and the discovery was made on 8 September after the car had reportedly been left abandoned for weeks. Hernandez had previously been reported missing in 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California.
According to reports, LAPD believes the teen likely died in the spring of 2025, and the circumstances of her death—including signs of dismemberment—suggest that multiple individuals may have been involved. While d4vd has not been formally charged, multiple sources confirm that police are treating him as a suspect and allege he has not fully cooperated with authorities.
Investigators are viewing Celeste’s death as a homicide despite no official determination from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Once a cause of death can be confirmed, an arrest and charges could soon follow.
As of now, the official cause and manner of death remain unconfirmed. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. d4vd has not publicly responded to the development, but has cancelled upcoming tour dates following the news.
