December Avenue deliver "a different take from the usual heart-breaking hits" with new single 'Bakas ng Talampakan' – listen

December Avenue's latest release is going to give you all kinds of feelings your heart might not be able to handle.

On Sunday (04/05), the Filipino alternative rock act released 'Bakas ng Talampakan,' their first single since the December release of their sophomore album Langit Mong Bughaw.

In a message to Bandwagon, vocalist/guitarist Zel Bautista reveals that 'Bakas ng Talampakan' was written after his dog, Ixora passed away. "The song is a different take from the usual heart-breaking hits of Dec Ave; It talks about being hopeful and finding light in the bloom of a new day," he writes.

"The album art is an original painting I made using my own foot, in acrylic paint," Bautista adds. "The title of the song (bakas ng talampakan or footprint) is a symbol that represents the path we've taken, to remind us to keep moving forward despite the struggles along the way."

Since shows have been cancelled due to the enhanced community lockdown in Luzon to fight the spread of the coronavirus, Bautista reveals that he's been keeping himself isolated and busy with learning how to paint, playing video games, and writing songs. He tells Bandwagon, "However, I am very anxious about the situation, our livelihood is greatly affected and we're totally clueless about the future. I hope this won't be the new 'normal' now."
