The Eraserheads are hitting the live stage together for the first time in over a decade this December, but that's not the only thing hitting the headlines.

Fans are calling for the Huling El Bimbo concert to drop guitarist Marcus Adoro from the lineup.

In 2019, Adoro's ex-partner Barbara Ruaro and daughter Syd Hartha accused the guitarist of abuse. In a recent report by NME, the two have revealed that Adoro or his representatives have not reached out to apologise or initiate discussions to resolve the allegations.

Touching on the issue briefly in an interview with Bandwagon, drummer Raymund Marasigan has stated: If you're my friend, seek me out we can talk about it privately. Publicly on social media, any statement can be misconstrued. Nobody wins. I hope the issue between the parties gets resolved soon. I really want to respect the privacy of those involved, and sincerely hope they all find peace of heart and mind." He addresses it further in his podcast with D&D Guitars' Daren LimOffstage Hang, saying "When we agreed to do the show, we all knew this would happen. I will not invalidate anybody's opinions and feelings."

Vocalist and guitarist Ely Buendia has also issued a statement via his manager and Huling El Bimbo concert co-producer, Diane Ventura. Speaking to ANCx, Ventura shares that “One of Ely’s non-negotiable conditions prior to signing was precisely that Marcus resolve his issues otherwise Ely would not work with him. This was promised by Marcus’ management which was why we even reconsidered." Ventura stressed that Buendia does not condone abuse, and acknowledges the pain of the parties involved. "We will do what we can to encourage peace, resolution and will never get in the way of possible reconciliation or second chances between families, We are hoping for good to come out of this," Ventura adds.

In in interview with Rappler, bassist Buddy Zabala also shares his stand on the issues at hand. Zabala sends his support for Barbara Buaro and Syd Hartha, and says: “I can’t imagine the pain and anguish that Syd and Bie have gone through. I express my solidarity with them. I know that when people are hurt, my fervent wish is for them to get to a place of healing. I sincerely hope all parties start processing what they went through and receive the help they need." He also emphasised that Adoro joining the concert is not solely his decision. "I’m not the boss here. It’s an ongoing thing. Whatever the results are, I will have to abide by that, what the prod decides to do with the Marcus issue."

As of press time, the Huling El Bimbo concert is set to take place with all four members on 22 December 2022 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
