ENHYPEN talk touring, musical influences, and meeting their Filipino fans

ENHYPEN made it to the Philippines.

It's been a little over two years since the K-pop group—which comprises Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Niki—debuted but they've only just got to see their fans recently. With the pandemic keeping the world at a still since 2020, the online world has been the only place the 'Future Perfect' act could connect with their fans. But earlier this year, ENHYPEN kicked off their first world tour, MANIFESTO, which has brought them all way the across the world.

This is, however, not why they came over to Manila last weekend. As BYS Cosmetics' newest ambassadors, the beauty brand brought them over to celebrate their 10th anniversary, allowing ENHYPEN to meet their Filipino ENGENEs for the very first time.

"One of the best parts of being an artist is traveling all around the world, meeting our fans. We're so happy to be here in the Philippines. We're only staying for a day but the next time we come back, we'll be doing our shows so we're excited for that," said the group, during a press conference ahead of their "fun meet" with BYS Cosmetics.

At the press conference, ENHYPEN shared that it's been a surreal couple of months getting to experience their fans' love and support like never before.

"We’re actually meeting our ENGENEs offline now, before we used to only communicate online. We’re feeling [their love] more now, we’ll try our best to see more of our ENGENEs moving forward," they said.

ENHYPEN will be returning to the Philippines in February 2023 for a two-night concert as part of the Asia leg of their MANIFESTO tour. This will be the first time the group will be performing around Asia, following their North America tour.

The tour comes in celebration of their latest mini-album, MANIFESTO: DAY 1 which launched ENHYPEN into a new era of their music. Across 6 tracks, the 'ParadoXXX Invasion' act delved into new genres and complex stories about finding their calling.

"As an artist, we can't just stay where we are. If we block ourselves from possibilities, we cannot satisfy our fans so what we do is that we continuously try other genres so that our fans can discover new sides to us and appreciate us. I think it's necessary for us to try different styles and sounds and to continue exploring forward," explained ENHYPEN.

Hoping to create an impact with their music across the world, ENHYPEN shared they hoped to follow in the footsteps of their HYBE labelmates BTS, citing the world-renowned pop group as one of their biggest musical influences.

"Our biggest musical influence is BTS. We, as a group, will do our best and exert more effort to have that level of influence with our performances," ENHYPEN shared.

ENHYPEN will be performing in Manila on 4-5 February 2023 at the Mall Of Asia Arena. Tickets will go on sale on 10 December onwards.
