Music Matters Live 2024 is just around the corner.

The highly anticipated festival is slated to run from 8 to 11 May, as part of CreatorWeek 2024. This year, Music Matters Live 2024 features an impressive lineup of more than 50 budding musicians from 16 countries, across four nights of music and seven venues.

BANDWAGON TV

The festival is supported by Believe, a leading digital music company, and TuneCore, the leading development partner for self-releasing artists to build their audiences and careers.

Festival goers can look forward to a special TuneCore showcase and performances by talents from Believe such as Firdhaus from Malaysia, Rangga Jones from Singapore, GAC and Nadhif Basalamah from Indonesia.

With performances ranging from P-pop standouts BINI, Japanese dynamic boy band PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE to Filipino singer-songwriter Mix Fenix and Singapore’s very own alternative rock act Count Vernon, this year’s edition of Music Matters Live is not one to be missed.

Music Matters Live will see an exhilarating lineup of performances across the world at its mainstage in Clarke Quay. Music fans in Singapore can look forward to four nights of spellbinding performances by Filipino genre-bending artist Kyleaux, Singapore’s soulful singer-songwriter Josh Makazo, New Zealand’s R&B act Teo Glacier and more.

NME Girls To The Front

NME’s acclaimed showcase will be held in Singapore for the very first time. Aimed at bringing female and non-binary talents into the spotlight, fans can catch performances by Singaporean acts Rhyu, Shazza, and Shye and Indonesian singer-songwriter noui

 

Set The Tone (18+)

WHEN: 8 May, doors open at 10pm

WHERE: Phuture @ Zouk 

This night at Zouk will set the tone for hip-hop, Afrobeats and R&B lovers. U.S Platinum-selling hip-hop icon GORILLA ZOE, Australia’s multi-million streamer William Singe, streetsoul from Japan’s VivoOla and New Zealand’s WHO SHOT SCOTT will grace the stage. Adding to the electrifying night are none other than Zouk’s very own DJs Caden and Krishna.

Full Volume (18+)

WHEN: 9 May, doors open at 8pm

WHERE: Phil’s Studios, doors open at 8pm

Enjoy loud performances with a diverse soundscape from seven bands including the likes of Singapore’s alternative rock band Count Vernon, Thailand’s indie-pop noisemakers LEMONY, French floor-fillers Isserman, New Zealand’s EMMA DILEMMA and more.

TuneCore Showcase

WHEN: 10 May, 6pm

WHERE: Señor Taco

Six talented TuneCore artists will take the stage during the showcase. Bask in the music from acts around the region including the Philippines’ Mix Fenix, Indonesia’s Aldi Haqq, Eleanor Whisper and Peekay, Vietnam’s Grassic, and Thailand’s SPACE PUMPKIN all while enjoying Señor Taco’s delectable treats - a perfect night for foodies and music lovers.

Swee Lee Sessions

WHEN: 10 May, doors open at 6pm

WHERE: Swee Lee Clarke Quay 

Swee Lee’s new Clarke Quay store will see “intimate, unplugged, acoustic sets” by India’s Dhruv Visvanath, Filipino indie artist Peej, Hong Kong’s Celine Wanyi, and many more.

Girls’ Night Out

WHEN: 11 May, doors open at 7pm

WHERE: Fountain Square Stage @ Clarke Quay

In partnership with It’s A Girl Thing, the all-female showcase will take over the festival’s main stage on the last night. The night will feature sensational performances by Japanese soulstress Nao Yoshioka, pure pop energy from Indian Australian JHM, Hong Kong’s singer-songwriters JOYA and Celine Wanyi, and more captivating female acts.

 

MIC CHECK (18+)

WHEN: 11 May, doors open at 10pm

WHERE: IKI, Riverwalk 

Music Matters Live will close its festival with a bang. Expect a night of hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeats at the club with French beatboxers Berywam, Australia’s Afrobeats number Adrian Dzvuke, and a line of up-and-coming artists all while IKI’s DJ Hanif keeps the festivities rolling through the night.

Apart from the free showcases, invitation-only events hosted by CreatorWeek partners will take place throughout the week including YouTube After Hours at PULSE on 8 May and NME ‘The Cover’ Party on 9 May. Def Jam SEA x 1880, a ticketed event, will commence on 10 May. More information can be found on Def Jam SEA’s Instagram page.

Music Matters Academy will also be held at Swee Lee Clarke Quay on 10 May from 10am. The academy - curated for artists, industry newcomers, managers and young executives - will present a series of fireside chats, panels and workshops in line with the “business of music” as part of the CreatorWeek conference’s Learning Matters track. Meta will also host interactive workshops for chosen artists to support their discovery across Meta’s platforms.
