While you're noodling around GarageBand's DAW, you can also take a masterclass in remixing with Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga through the new in-app Remix Sessions. The Remix Sessions include inspiration videos from two GRAMMY Award-winning artists, as they share stories behind 'Break My Heart' and 'Free Woman'. A step-by-step remix workshop led by an Apple Retail Creative Pro comes with the session as well.

Dua Lipa says, “It’s amazing to see Apple bringing my music to life in GarageBand, so now anyone can experience how I made ‘Break My Heart’ no matter where they are. Music has the power to bring people together, and this is doing that in such an exciting way. I personally can’t wait for people to have a lot of fun experimenting and coming up with different versions of my song.”

In a statement, Lady Gaga shares, “GarageBand is my idea bank and where I start my songwriting, so I’m excited to make my song ‘Free Woman’ available as a Remix Session. I want musicians and music lovers to be able to see how a song is produced and be able to hear all the individual parts, and then put their own creative colour on it, doing whatever they want in GarageBand.”

An additional Producer Pack is also available, where aspiring artists can get a walk-through from renowned producer Mark Ronson, topping as special companion experience for the new Apple Original docuseries Watch the Sound with Mark Ronson.

“GarageBand continues to be a catalyst for music creation—making it easy for novices to get started and for seasoned pros to develop their ideas on the go,” Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, shares in a statement. “For this update, we’ve collaborated with an incredible group of artists and producers to give musicians an amazing collection of new sounds to play with, and we hope even more people will be inspired to tap into their creativity and start making music in GarageBand.”

GarageBand's Remix Sessions and Producer Packs are available for free download from the Sound Library in-app on iOS and iPadOS.
