Heavy metal made a massive comeback to the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City last Friday (08/07).

Hosted by Numinous and TRIBAL, the Philippine edition of the Wacken Metal Battle drew in roughly 10,000 metalheads to witness the finalist who'd win the chance of a lifetime to perform at Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany this August.

The show ran smoothly, opening with the battle, where Psywar from Luzon, Trauma from Visayas, and Redeemed by the Blood from Mindanao, alongside TRIBAL Bandidos ORCA and Remnants, went head-to-head through the afternoon. Nostalgia exploded throughout the event, taking fans back to pre-pandemic days when they'd spend their summers worshipping heavy metal on these grounds.

After the battle, local heavyweights VIE, Typecast, Arcadia, Skychurch, Philia, and Saydie set the stage on fire. ORCA were then crowned the winners of the evening, before Valley Of Chrome, Greyhoundz, and Queso performed and summoned countless walls of death and crowd surfs from the moshpit.
