The last time we checked in with Of Methodist, the prodigious singer-producer presented with us with a thoughtful track-by-track guide to his intensely evocative sophomore EP.

As impressed as we were with his last record, we knew that the 19-year-old was only just getting started. As evidenced by his sonic growth in between Pvlgrim and Coven, Of Methodist gets exponentially better with every release.

And that upward trajectory continues into 2017 with his stunning new single entitled 'Authority'.

Embarking upon a slinky and sensual R&B route this go around, Of Methodist's latest is a slow-burner that gets incrementally more intense as you come to understand its themes.

Dealing with the concept of total submission, either to a higher power or lover, 'Authority' is a powerful number will creep under your skin and linger in heart for quite a while.

"What does submission sound like? What does giving someone full authority over your emotions sound like?," Of Methodist explains. "I wanted to capture that in the production, especially at that surprising ending."
