Lola Amour announce online concert and documentary 'Looking Back' to say farewell to Renzo Santos and Joxx Perez

Lola Amour are bidding farewell to their longtime saxophonist Joxx Perez and drummer Renzo Santos in their upcoming online concert-documentary.

In an announcement made on 2 May, the Filipino funk-rock band shared they will be parting ways with their longtime bandmates as they both pursue the next chapter of their lives.

"We thank Joxx and Renzo for being part of Lola Amour. We have been playing music together for 12 years now, and have been friends longer. While we are sad to see them leave, we are excited to see what's next for both of them," the band writes in an official statement.

"The past 7 years in Lola Amour have been the most exciting years of my life. We have achieved so many things that I could only dream about. From performing in an empty bar to performing in front of a hundred thousand people. To making friends with all the people who appreciate the art that we create — I can't thank you all enough for making this possible, and I'll always cherish these memories," writes Renzo.

"I never would have imagined that this band would get to where it is now. What started out as a high school lunch group dreaming of winning Battle of the Bands has gone on to perform for huge events and get millions of streams online. I want to thank all our fans and followers that helped us get to where we are today. I feel the love always and I am extremely grateful for your support. Thank you for continuing to believe in us," shares Joxx.

To send off Joxx and Renzo, the 'Pwede Ba' act will be Looking Back on their musical journey in a special online concert and documentary which will drop on 5 May at 8:30 PHT via YouTube.

Directed by Alwyn Uytingco, the visual will see the band reminisce over the last seven years and perform some of their biggest hits. Looking Back will also see guest performances from Al James and Leanne & Naara.

Following Joxx and Renzo's departure, Lola Amour will move forward as a five-piece with Pio Dumayas (vocals), Raymond King (bass), Zoe Gonzales (guitar), Angelo Mesina (trumpet), and David Yuhico (keyboard).

Most recently, the band recently released their three-track EP, The Lunchtime Special which featured collaborations with Clara Benin, Al James, and Leanne & Naara.
