Lola Amour bassist Raymond King announces departure from band, Manu Dumayas to take his place

Raymond King has made his exit from Lola Amour.

On 27 March (Wednesday), the 'Raining in Manila' hitmakers announced the departure of bassist Raymond King. The news follows the release of their final single with King, 'Namimiss Ko Na' and the band's return to the Wanderland Music & Arts Festival stage, where King did not perform, as he was in Singapore for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour

The lineup change was first revealed to fans at an exclusive listening party held last 15 March, where King shared the news in person, revealing the reasons for his decision to leave the band. In a statement, King shares how grateful he is for his time with Lola Amour, and thanks fans for listening for the last 8 years. "We've reached more than I could ever have dreamed of and I couldn't think of anyone else I would've done it with."

He also adds that his last performance with the band will be at their album launch concert at Circuit Makati on 13 April 2024, following the release of their self-titled debut album on 10 April.

In an Instagram post, Lola Amour send their well-wishes and thanks for King's invaluable contributions to the band over the past 8 years. "Goodbyes are never easy, but we’ll always support you and what makes you happy."

A founding member, King has been with Lola Amour since 2016. Manu Dumayas, who has been playing trumpet (and occasionally, bass, guitar, and backing vocals) for the band over the past few years, will be taking on bass duties to replace King. Meanwhile, Tim Cruz will now act as the group's go-to session musician.

This is the latest lineup change for the 'Pwede Ba' act following the departure of founding members Renzo Santos (drums), Joxx Perez (saxophone), and Martin Kim (keys).
