Just one day before Obedient Wives Club are set to make their triumphant return onstage at Baybeats Festival 2017 (Saturday July 15, 10.10pm at the Arena Stage), the "Spectorgaze" outfit have dropped their brand new EP online!

Entitled Cinematica, the freshly-minted record officially ends the band's four-year hiatus, and the Singaporean music scene is all the better for it.

As lead single ‘Baby Bye Bye’ exemplified, the five-track release presents an invigorating expansion of the band's sound, showcasing strings, horns and synths as unexpected (but wholly welcome) flourishes.

Similarly, their fuzzy lo-fi sound and reverb-drenched aesthetic has also been toned down in favour of a lusher, more polished approach.

Not to worry though, the dreamy girl pop essence of OWC still shines through, elegantly evoking melancholy beauty and toe-tapping indie-pop at every turn.

Cinematica is available on most digital platforms today, but you can also stream it via Spotify below.
