Official FIFA World Cup song 'Live It Up' features Diplo, Nicky Jam, and... Will Smith – listen

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is 20 short days away and the official song for this year's tournament has been released in anticipation for the world's favourite sporting event.

While many variations of official anthems for the World Cup have been released, most notably Jason Derulo's 'Colors', none has gotten quite as traction and hype as the one that was just released – and for good reason. The latest official song to be unveiled features hitmaking producer Diplo in collaboration with acts like reggaeton musician Nicky Jam, Kosovo Albanian artist Era Istrefi and... Will Smith, who seems to be returning to rapping after many years in Hollywood.

The track, which was produced by Diplo, is largely performed by Nicky Jam, with Will Smith and Era Istrefi getting feature credits for their verses. The song takes on a catchy, Brazilian feel, complete with trumpets and shakers. Will Smith's statement on the song can be found below.

It’s an honour to be asked to perform at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This global event brings people from all over the world together to cheer, laugh and experience magic. Collaborating with Nicky, Diplo and Era on this track represents harmony, eclectic flavours and genres coming together. At the end of the day, we just want to see the world dance.

Will Smith, Nicky Jam and Era Istrefi will perform the song live at the World Cup final on 15 July, ahead of the World Cup final at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The 2018 FIFA World Cup will kick off on 14 June 2018.
