Coldplay are finally heading back to Asia next year to bring their record-breaking Music of the Spheres World Tour.

Kicking off in Costa Rica last March 2022, the band's eighth concert tour has since held over 100 shows across cities in North and South America and Europe. This time, it's Asia and Australia's turn as the band returns to the region with concerts starting November 2023 until February 2024.

Aside from their spectacular production, immersive performances, and sustainable efforts, the GRAMMY-winning four-piece also showcased local talent from each city they visited. The tour saw Filipino-American artist H.E.R. partnered with local acts in each city for most of the South American leg as well as numerous European shows. The likes of Costa Rican singer-songwriter Mish Catt, Argentinian artist Zoe Gotusso, Italian singer Mara Sattei, Spanish indie-rock band Hinds, and more join the list of over 30 musical acts who have opened for Coldplay on the tour.

YOASOBI

Comprising Vocaloid producer Ayase and singer-songwriter Ikura, "music superduo" YOASOBI will be opening for Coldplay at their sold-out Tokyo Dome concerts on 6 and 7 November 2023. With a number of Billboard Japan Hot 100 hits under their belt, the duo has taken their music international with the recent release of 'Idol,' the theme song of the anime series Oshi no Ko.

The song recently broke the record for most consecutive weeks atop at Japan Hot 100 chart, while also peaking at number 1 on Billboard's Global Excl. US music chart, making it the first original Japanese song to achieve the feat.

In an interview with Bandwagon, Ayase shared how they've been making "music from novels" since their debut in 2019: "Every song is based on an original story or novel. So first, we need to read those stories until we get the mood or vibe of the message of the story itself.  And then, we also need to understand how the character in the story feels, just really dive into that story. After that, I start to write the melody from the message."

This August, the duo is also set to perform at Summer Sonic, as well as the fifth anniversary celebrations of Head In the Clouds in Los Angeles

Accusefive

Founded in Yilan County in 2017, Taiwanese trio Accusefive is made up of Pan Yun-an (lead vocals and guitar), Tsai Hsin-lun (vocals), and Richard Lin (drums). The multi-awarded musical act will be opening for Coldplay at the Kaohsiung National Stadium on 11 and 12 November 2023.

After the release of their first EP Son of Mist in 2017, the trio won Best New Artist at the 9th Golden Indie Music Awards. With their subsequent releases and efforts, the band has also garnered nominations such as Best New Artist, Best Band, Best Composition, and Best Song at various editions of the Golden Melody Awards. Most recently, the band won Artist of the Year at the 17th KKBOX Music Awards

In February 2023, the trio dropped their latest album titled We Will Be Fine. The group will be taking their 10-track record on tour as they hold album signing sessions and performances across Taiwan this June and July.
