PREMIERE: Singaporean hardcore punk quartet BIND releases empowering debut single 'Defy Your Hate'

"Time to step it up, Gotta clench my fist" / "Won't back down, gotta fight the beast" – A new lightning bolt has entered the canon of Lion City Hardcore.

The take-no-prisoners single is christened 'Defy Your Hate' and entered the ether courtesy of BIND, a reconstituted entity comprising members of three storied Singaporean hardcore bands, Stompin' GroundOverthrown and Shortfuse, as well as Warcharge, a band from out of town.

Released on Bandcamp, the song is an empowering boot to the face of the forces of oppression and subjugation. Over a roiling surge of serrated guitars and rumbling bass, buoyed by kinetic blasts of drums, frontman Ragman yells fist-up lines of protest and self-actualistation, penned by Singaporean hardcore legend Syed, bassist of Stompin' Ground: "I won't play your game / I defy your hate".
