PSY is an artist that’s one of a kind.
Meticulous, determined, and creatively eccentric, the Korean pop icon has always played in a league of his own. Whether it was when he forever changed YouTube history after taking over the Internet in 2012 with his viral sensation ‘Gangnam Style’ or the many years of hard work and authentic artistry that came before and after that, PSY has always had so much to offer.
So naturally, his concerts are no different.
PSY takes behind-the-scenes and on-stage of SUMMER SWAG 2022, the long-awaited comeback of one of the most sought-after musical performances in Korea, in his latest concert film, PSY SUMMER SWAG 2022, with Disney+.
The film begins with a video of the pop hitmaker “training” for the concert with his personal trainer (played by Korean actor Ma Dongseok) before cutting to him walking under the stage, prompting the audience to get ready for the summer they’ve been waiting for. It’s riveting and exciting, even if you’re not actually there.
PSY jumps into the air landing on stage, signalling the start of SUMMER SWAG. The singer is greeted by a packed stadium decked in blue, who were all quickly then sprayed with water from synchronised sprinkles that were an entire production of their own.
Packing four hours of raucous fun and delightful chaos into almost an hour and a half, the film sees all-out performances of ‘Daddy’, ‘Gentlemen’, ‘Celeb’, ‘Shake It’, ‘New Face’, ‘Entertainer’, ‘That That’ (which featured a surprise appearance from SUGA of BTS), ‘Gangnam Style’, ‘Father’, and more, as well as post-credit interviews on what it takes to put the summer spectacle together.
Each performance has you both in awe and curious: how does someone have this much energy? PSY gives his everything on the stage and just when you think he has nothing left to give, he bounces back, jumping and running vigorously as if he didn’t just finish another high-energy number.
Never faltering in intensity, SUMMER SWAG is the party of our dreams. It’s a playground made for pure fun and madness, a space where you can just let loose and give in to the music no matter who you are.

PSY SUMMER SWAG 2022 immortalises a live concert that could have only been born out of the Korean icon’s ingenious mind. A product of immense ambition and artistic passion, the concert film sees PSY as an irreplaceable force in music and the potential of what an artist can bring on stage.
If there’s anything you take away from the film, it’s that no one puts on a performance like PSY does.
