On Monday (21/06), RADWIMPS announced that SHIN SEKAI ‘nowhere’ would be held from 16 to 18 July. This never-before-seen virtual experience is in collaboration with PARTY, a creative collective that installs experiences of the future in society, leveraging its in-house virtual park system VARP to create the SHIN SEKAI ‘nowhere’.

Detailing the inspiration of the virtual experience, RADWIMPS lead vocalist Yojiro Noda said: “In the time of COVID-19 crisis, we have spent over a year experiencing every day like never before. This may be the first time in our lives that we reflect this much on ourselves.”

He also added: “No matter how this powerful virus robs us of our everyday lives, we do not give up on this head-on fight. This past year has also given us the chance for such realizations. SHIN SEKAI is yet another rebellion, a new challenge.”

In the musical experience, participants will transform into avatars and enter a world of music, where they will be taken on a journey to discover a new world and reality. The experience will see participants interchanging between an imaginary world where it is filled with hopes and dreams and the real world which represents pain and sorrow.

To enter the virtual experience, participants will need to download the official app to purchase a three-day pass. The passes are on sale now, with early bird prices ending on Sunday, 4 July

Early bird passes are available as the standard three-day pass at 2,820 JPY (26 USD) or participants can add on a prologue live archive along with the pass at 3,300 JPY (30 USD)

The prologue live archive is also available as a separate option for purchase at 490 JPY (5 USD). Participants are also able to purchase the passes with Bokunchi Memberships at no additional cost.
