Reality Club are done with impostor syndrome. On their fourth studio album Who Knows Where Life Will Take You?, the Jakarta indie rock darlings are shedding self-doubt and embracing their most personal, carefree selves yet.

Following the success of Reality Club Presents... that gave fans hits such as ‘Anything You Want’, plus a North American tour and opening slots for NIKI, the quartet have taken a step inward. This time, they’re recording live, writing from the heart, and sounding more confident than ever.

Lead singles ‘Quick! Love!’ and ‘You’ll Find Lovers Like You and Me’ hint at the album’s mix of romantic mishaps, family reflections, and spiritual awakenings — all laced with Reality Club’s signature witty sonic flair. Expect tongue-in-cheek titles like ‘Finding a Catholic Man to Love the Love of My Life’, and sentimental cuts like ‘Mama’s Coming Home’.

The album also features Reality Club's first-ever Indonesian-language track, ‘Close to You/Jauh’, that was written by bassist Nugi Wicaksono after being adapted from the original version by vocalist and keyboardist Fathia Izzati — marking his songwriting debut. Nugi expresses his sentiments on the song, saying, “Whenever people asked if we’d ever make a song in Indonesian, the other members always pointed to me. I can’t wait to see how people react.”

The album dives deep into experiences of family life, with the track ‘I’ll Do It Myself’ capturing the workplace frustrations of drummer Era Patiago's wife, and ‘Mama’s Coming Home’ being a beautiful lullaby Fathia wrote for her son. Tracks such as ‘Quick! Love!’ and ‘Now I’m a Diplomat’ also outline unique experiences that Fathia has had throughout her life with her brother and father respectively. “It took a lot of living to write this album,” says Fathia. “As individuals, we’ve grown so much.”

Recorded in Bangkok with Brad Oberhofer, Iga Massardi, and Wisnu Ikhsantama, the album fuses the band’s early indie rock spirit with nearly a decade of growth.

Vocalist-guitarist Faiz Novascotia Saripudin shares the overall vibe of this new album and the process behind creating it as he reflects, "Looking back, we made Never Get Better just so we could play our own songs in the car. On What Do You Really Know?, we were trying to prove to people that we were cool and edgy; and on Reality Club Presents…, we challenged ourselves with genres, an orchestra, and movie-like videos. On this album, we’re not trying to prove anything — not even to ourselves. That’s why it feels closest to our first.”

Stripped of pressure and full of heart, Reality Club are inviting their fans to embrace the heartwarming ride as they listen to Who Knows Where Life Will Take You?.
