Gladsome tidings and gifts galore in this year’s Red Ninja Year Ender Fest

B-Side, The Collective, became the sole pinpoint location for hundreds of gig-goers’ navigation apps as the listening community flocked to attend this year’s Red Ninja Year Ender Fest.

The massive 10-hour event was yet another melting pot this year as it was in the last — with different bands letting loose different genres of music all for the sole purpose of celebrating the year’s end. Despite the stark differences, music will always be music, and music will always bring people together.

This year, Red Ninja Production gifted the crowd with a solid line-up of 21 bands composed of both veterans and noteworthy newbies. Ben&Ben, Reese Lansangan, and Over October, among other acts who came back with their A-game, while old-time favorites such as Hale, Sandwich, and Cheats blessed the stage as Red Ninja rookies.

While there were some delays and technical difficulties, there were plenty of momentous performances from the acts, such as the drum-off between Cheats and Sandwich, Little Drummer Boy Suman Dancel playing drums for his dad Vin (Peryodiko) and being unfazed the entire time, and Carlos Castaño’s return from a long drought of gigs. These memorable happenings at the Red Ninja Year Ender fest were indeed early holiday gifts to dedicated music lovers and supporters of local music, and it was something to be truly thankful for.

Speaking of gifts and thankfulness, we brought out the classic Bandwagon Christmas board yet again and asked people in the music community to share and spread the holiday joy by answering two questions — what gift would they give to the community, and what they’re thankful for this year!
