Ahead of her first-ever solo concert in Singapore, IRENE is stepping into a new chapter — one built on self-belief, growth, and a whole lot of love for ReVeluvs.
The Red Velvet member will soon bring her massively successful I-WILL tour to The Theatre at Mediacorp on 4 July, following stops in Seoul, Taipei, and Macau. The show comes fresh off after the acclaimed release of her debut full-length album, Biggest Fan.
Before the concert, IRENE spoke to Bandwagon about what going solo means to her, the message behind 'Biggest Fan', the toughest part of her setlist, and her dream day off in Singapore — featuring durian, jackfruit, and mangosteen.

You’ve been to Singapore with Red Velvet, and last year with SEULGI. Now you’re here alone. What feels most different this time, and is there something you’re hoping to experience that you haven’t yet?
Just holding a solo concert in itself has brought such an incredibly massive meaning to my life. I went through moments of anxiety and frustration, but I will never forget those times when I encouraged myself, comforted myself, and promised myself that I could do it. While I’m not sure what lies ahead next, I can say for certain that my desire to keep trying new things has grown so much stronger.
With 'Biggest Fan', you said the message “be your own biggest fan” was something you wanted to say to ReVeluvs, and also to yourself. What’s the moment or experience that made you realise you needed to hear that message just as much as they did?
Preparing for this concert made me realise all over again just how profoundly important it is to trust yourself and keep moving forward.
Your solo tour setlist is stacked — from 'Like A Flower' to 'Biggest Fan' to 'Love Can Make A Way'. Which song is the hardest to catch your breath after performing, and which one feels like a rest?
It’s definitely the first three songs. For the opening, I wanted to create a whirlwind of a performance without turning off the stage lights, but I think I might have overexerted myself a bit! On the other hand, the section from 'White Night' to 'Ka-Ching!' is where I feel most at ease. It’s a section dedicated entirely to ReVeluvs, so just seeing how happy they look completely relaxes my mind.
You’re known as a homebody. If you had 24 hours completely free in Singapore with no schedule, would you spend it exploring outside or staying in the hotel — and what would you actually do with that time?
I would go buy my favourite fruits — durian, jackfruit, and mangosteen — and just relax while eating them out on the terrace. Then, I’d fit in a quick workout, freshen up, and head out for a delicious dinner. And once I’m back at the hotel, the durian, jackfruit, and mangosteen mukbang starts all over again!
Your Singapore fans have been waiting for this solo show. What would you like to tell them ahead of the concert?
Being able to meet Singapore ReVeluvs through my own solo concert is something I am so deeply grateful for. I will do my absolute best so that we can create beautiful memories together. See you on the day of the show!
