Esplanade announces lineup for this month's Rocking the Region – Quite Quiet, Grrrl Gang, Coming Up Roses, Sunwich, and more

Esplanade's Rocking the Region concert series is set to return this month.

Scheduled to take place over two weekends — 22 to 24 January and 29 to 31 January — the free event will showcase 12 of the most exciting acts in the Southeast Asian alternative scene.

The 2021 lineup includes Singaporean artists such as indie/math rock band Woes, indie quartet Cherry Syrup, alt-rock/shoegaze group Coming Up Roses, rising duo Islandeer, rock band Saints Amongst Sinners, and dream pop soloist Quite Quiet. They will perform at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre.

Representing Thailand virtually are indie/psych-pop outfit Folk9*. Pop-punk group Grrrl Gang, indie-pop band Sunwich, and Ballads of the Cliché will represent Indonesia through online sets.

Previously announced acts Numcha and Khana Bierbood have had to cancel their scheduled performances due to the evolving COVID 19 situation in Thailand.
