Slipknot's cryptic NFT website promises new music

Hello maggots, are you ready for new Slipknot music?

You’ll be stoked to know that Slipknot has inexplicably launched a cryptic NFT website that features snippets of their new music.

As the link to Chapeltown Rag recently appeared on Slipknot’s very own website (knotfest.com) with the statement: “Read All About It If You Want To Know,” you can be rest assured that the site is a legitimate precursor to the heavy metal band’s next release, following their last album We Are Not Your Kind.

On the website domain entitled thechapeltownrag.com, you’ll find what appears to be nine fragments of audio clips, each attached to an NFT (non-fungible token). While these playable samples all indicate that they are ‘sold out,’ they do insinuate that these could potentially be bits of Slipknot’s new studio recordings.

Earlier in June, the band’s percussionist Shawn Clown’ Crahan told Metal Hammer in an interview that their new music would be reminiscent of their definitive album Iowa: “This one is a cobra in a basket. You can either know how to play the instrument, or you can take the circumstance. This is real. But you’re gonna open the basket. You’re going to play, you’re going to charm and be charmed.”

Slipknot is currently on the Knotfest Roadshow tour across the States, and are set to play Knotfest at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles this Friday on 5 November. Their performance will be broadcast across the globe, and their line-up will feature bands including Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange, Vended, and Cherry Bombs
