South Korea will soon be getting a brand new stadium solely devoted to K-pop!
A project by South Korean entertainment company CJ ENM, the CJ LiveCity Arena officially began construction works on 27 October and is slated to be open to the public in 2024. Designed exclusively for massive K-pop concerts, the venue has a total capacity of 60,000 seats – 20,000 indoors and 40,000 outdoors.

According to a press release, the arena will boast its own rehearsal spaces and will feature a unique stage design that allows for concerts to be put together in less than twenty-four hours. The venue is said to have "the most powerful live performance infrastructure in the world".

Apart from the physical venue, CJ LiveCity also announced its plans to introduce a Virtual LiveCity to incorporate the physical and digital space. This will allow K-pop fans from across the globe to interact with each other and experience the same show without being bound by the limits of space.
CJ ENM is South Korea's leading entertainment company producing content across film, live concerts, music, and more. As of 2019, the company has put out 1,500 shows with an average of 300 concerts per year for acts like MONSTA X, (G)I-DLE, Oh My Girl, and more. They are also behind online South Korean music festival KCON:TACT.
