In the early hours of Wednesday, 9 March (PHT), Spotify and Discord faced major outages, with users all around the world reporting trouble logging in across both their web and mobile applications.

According to reports and data from DownDetector, both the streaming service and digital messaging platform were facing technical problems at around 2:00 AM (PHT). Users shared that they got logged out of Spotify and were receiving error messages despite entering the right login details, while Discord users were experiencing several messages and call delivery failures.

After several hours, both the platforms are reportedly now back online.

While no definitive cause was stated for Spotify and Discord's outage, the latter attributed the errors to a malfunction with their Google Cloud client. According to a report by The Verge, Google Cloud also shared that Spotify also used their services and that they have yet to identify a root cause.
