Syndicate to host beatsmiths Mr. Carmack and Soulection's Jarreau Vandal at Potato Head Folk

As the anticipation for Keong Saik Carnival begins to heat up, the good Potato Head Folk folks will also be throwing an incredible pre-party celebration in the lead-up to the massive street festival.

Helmed by famed audio-visual collective Syndicate, this special showcase features a pair of amazingly talented beatsmiths in the form of Mr. Carmack and Soulection's Jarreau Vandal to one of Chinatown's most buzzed about hotspots.

Known for deftly straddling the line between muscular, futuristic bass music and more delicate, soulful beats, Mr. Carmack's productions, much like his renowned DJ sets, are never predictable and frequently astonishing. The Honolulu-based producer and multi-instrumentalist is notably prolific, with the gorgeous White EP being the latest in a long string of quality releases.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands' Jarreau Vandal has been quietly and steadily making a name for himself in recent years thanks to his stellar output via respected Los Angeles label Soulection. His originals and remixes effortlessly bridge the gap between club music, hip-hop, R&B, and jazz, and that exactly what you'll hear on the dance floor as well.

Meanwhile Syndicate luminaries Kiat and Intriguant will be holding the fort the beats and bass crew alongside other affiliated Singaporean talent such as prodigious producer Fzpz (of Phyla and Darker Than Wax) and Potato Head Folk's very own Jerls (of No Party Here).

And as you enjoy the forward-thinking, fresh music going on, don't forget to also marvel at the visuals crafted by media artist extraordinaire SSYSTM.

Syndicate x PTF Presents Mr.Carmack and Jarreau Vandal happens on Saturday, 21 May, at Potato Head Folk. Click here for more details.
