TREASURE drop their first full-length album THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT - listen

TREASURE are starting the year with a big release, shortly after their comeback last month. 

Taking to social media platforms today on 28 December, TREASURE have announced their upcoming first full-length album, THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT, to drop on 11 January 2021 at 6 PM (KST). 

Accompanied with the news is a poster, which serves as the very first teaser to the slew of content building up to the release. A concept teaser video was released the following day (29/12).

On 03/01, YG released the tracklist for THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT, which will feature 12 tracks, 2 of which are available exclusively in the physical album. 

Ahead of the album drop, the group shared a teaser for title track's music video, 'My Treasure', as well as posters counting down to the release. 

On 11/01, hours before the album release, YG Entertainment teased fans with an album sampler that sees snippets of THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT's 12 tracks, accompanied by videos of the members singing and dancing along. 

As the album will be the last instalment to the group's THE FIRST STEP series, the record is said to contain an array of stories that express hope, strength, and happiness.

"The TREASURE EFFECT has 12 songs that give people warm comfort and support. It has many different stories, being the finale of THE FIRST STEP series. We tried to deliver happiness and hope with our voices under the theme of 'We are glittering and precious like jewels," said member Yedam, in a press conference held today (11/01).

During the press conference, the members also teased that the lead single from the album 'My Treasure' will take on a different vibe compared their previous tracks, hoping that will share "cheer and good vibes" to their fans. 

Pre-orders have also begun for the KiT ALBUM starting from 29 December 2020 to 11 January 2021. It will include a package box, random unit air kit, title card, lyrics photocard set, as well as a random strap keyring. Find out how to pre-order it:

TREASURE’s upcoming album follows the 12-member group’s third single album released in November. Titled THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER THREE, it features two tracks, namely ‘MMM’ and ‘Orange’. In December, the rookie group went on to receive awards for Best New Male Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, as well as Best New Artist at the Asia Artist Awards.
