A new tide is rolling into K-pop. TUIDE officially made their debut with their first EP, TUNE & PLAY, introducing the seven-member girl group and their self-described “Soultronic” sound.
TUIDE are the first act to debut under ABD, a new label under HYBE MUSIC GROUP. The group comprises SEOHEE, SEOYEON, ELENA, JIA, SAKI, SEAH, and YI HANI.
Taking their name from the phrase “Tune the tide,” TUIDE's debut project marks the beginning of the members' journey as they bring their individual musical identities together.
Leading the five-track record is 'SUN KISS', a bright number that pairs soul-inspired melodies with electronic textures. Built around a laid-back topline and dynamic rhythms, the song centres on trusting your own voice and moving to your own groove rather than following the standards of others.
The accompanying music video takes TUIDE to Iceland for a road trip across the country's dramatic landscapes. Beginning with a camper van travelling across black terrain, the visual follows the septet through villages, waterfalls, and black sand beaches.
The group's performance also places an emphasis on individuality rather than conventional synchronisation, with shifting formations bringing the seven members together while allowing their distinct movements to come through.
Alongside 'SUN KISS', TUNE & PLAY features 'ABD', 'Echo', 'Flip-Flop Girl', and 'GRLS'. South Korean producer duo GroovyRoom handled production across all five tracks. The EP expands on TUIDE's “Soultronic” identity with elements of R&B, house, and UK garage, alongside unplugged textures and alternative influences.
Ahead of their official debut, TUIDE introduced themselves through their Meet my GRLS, TUIDE video, featuring a performance of 'GRLS'. According to the group's announcement, the video landed in the Top 10 of Spotify's Global Music Video Chart for two consecutive weeks.
TUIDE also held their debut showcase in Seoul on 24 August, meeting fans for the first time as they officially began their journey as a group.
