The agonizing five year wait a new Wormrot album is almost at an end, as the global grindcore community eagerly awaits the release of their latest studio album, Voices, on 14 October (which you can pre-order here).

Released via independent English label Earache Records (also home to bands like Napalm Death, Brutal Truth and Terrorizer), this landmark EP marks the imprint's first ever signing from Asia — and landing one of the hottest acts in heavy music today is definitely a worthwhile first catch.

Undoubtedly, the new LP comes with a heap of expectation in Singapore and around the world, but as their new single and video shows, the band are set to deliver in a big way.

Titled 'Fallen Into Disuse', the lead single is as guttural, ferocious and technical as you'd expect. Featuring the debut of new drummer Vijesh, who joins guitarist Rasyid and vocalist Arif, this dynamic reconfiguration of Wormrot hasn't lost a step as they look to deliver their most emotionally impactful work to date.

As Arif explains, the song seeks to explore "unconscious abandonment from reality. Desperately trying to be accepted into the norm. At the very least. Failed miserably."

Shot by talented videographer Taufiq Jaafar during the band's recent performance at the KL Metalcamp festival in Kuala Lumpur, this short but glorious video should keep all you Wormrot fans satiated until the album drops in a couple of months.
