BTS have now broken 25 Guinness World Records titles, earn a spot in the  Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame

Another year, another set of world records broken by BTS.

The global superstars have broken a total of 13 Guinness World Records in this year alone, racking up their total to 25 records spanning across music, social media, entertainment and cultural categories. The feat has landed them a spot in the Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame.

Best-selling album in South Korea

Their seventh full-length Korean album Map of Soul: 7 is the Best-selling album in South Korea, selling 4,440,818 copies, breaking their own record. In 2019, their EP Map of Soul: Persona sold 3.2 million copies in one month, replacing the previous record-holder of 24 years.

Most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 by a K-pop track

BTS' first English track 'Dynamite' led the chart for three weeks and stayed in the top 10 of Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 Chart for another 20 weeks. It remains in the top 50 since its debut at number 1, achieving the title for Most weeks on the US Hot 100 by a K-Pop track. 

Most Weeks at No.1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart

It comes as no surprise then that the GRAMMY-nominated hit also holds the title for Most Weeks at No.1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart, beating out Justin Bieber and Daddy Yankee's summer earworm 'Despacito' which had 17 weeks at number.1. The song spent 18 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot in Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart. 

Most Streamed Group on Spotify

In April 2021, BTS was also named the Most Streamed Act on Spotify (Group), a title previously held by 'My Universe' collaborators Coldplay.  BTS' music was streamed more than 16.3 billion times on Spotify, with 'Dynamite' pulling a massive total of 1,888,259, 884 times. BTS is also listed in the top 3 of Spotify's most-streamed artists of 2021.

most Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards won by a music group

In March, BTS have achieved the most Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards won by a music group with a total of five wins, putting them beside American girl group Fifth Harmony. 

'Butter'

With BTS' second English single 'Butter', the group attained a whopping 5 records. It was the Most-streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours of its release, with 11,042,335 streams. It also had the Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube, and the Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube with 3,900,000 views.

The music video was viewed 108,200,000 times, breaking their own record of 101,100,000 in 2020 for 'Dynamite'. 'Butter' is currently the Most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group, as well as the Most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours. 

Named as one of Bandwagon's Best Songs of 2021, it's no surprise that 'Butter' has broken numerous records and will continue to receive more accolades.

After breaking the record in 2019 for the most Twitter engagements for a music group —  422,228 total engagements — and the fastest time to reach one million followers on TikTok — a little over 3 hours —, the seven-piece broke another social media record with the Most Followers on Instagram for a music group, boasting 40,220,226 followers as of April, dethroning One Direction

When all the members created their individual Instagram accounts in December, Kim Taehyung, who goes by his stage name, V broke the record for the Fastest time to reach 1 and 10 million followers on Instagram with 43 minutes, and the Fastest time to reach 10 million followers on Instagram in under 5 hours.
