On 22 September, Coldplay dropped a 15-second snippet of a lyric video.

News of the collaboration was first posted on Twitter earlier this June, with both BTS and Coldplay fans anticipating the then-rumoured track.

In the last couple of months, BTS and Coldplay have shared their admiration for each other. The GRAMMY-nominated performed Coldplay's hit 'Fix You' on MTV Unplugged last March, which BTS shared was a significant song to the band, having helped them through their difficult time.

The British rock band took to Twitter to praise the pop icons for the beautiful rendition, and even recommended BTS' Billboard Hot 100 hit 'Butter' a few months later.

In a recent interview with Popcrush, Martin shared: "When it comes to BTS, I just have nothing but love and respect for them. All seven guys, I think they're just cool, stand for good things and sing about cool things. I love the fact that they are so huge and sing a lot in Korean, they don't always have to sing in English. I love them a lot and so if the right song came along, I wouldn't ever say no."

He also revealed: "I love that band... because love what they stand for as people."

'My Universe' comes as the second single off Coldplay's forthcoming album Music of the Spheres, following 'Higher Power'.

Meanwhile, BTS recently released their record-breaking singles 'Butter' and 'Permission To Dance'. Both groups are scheduled to perform at the upcoming Global Citizen Live event on 25 September which will be held across 8 cities around the world.
