It's Jimin's birthday!

In celebration of his 26th birthday, the BTS member has reportedly donated over KRW 100 million to the Green Umbrella Child Foundation, a South Korean organisation that helps underprivileged children with financial, physical and emotional assistance. 

With this recent donation, Jimin has been added to the organisation's Green Noble club which honours some of the foundation's biggest donors. The vocalist joins fellow BTS member j-hope who was added to the club in 2019. 

Much like the K-pop star, BTS ARMY everywhere are celebrating large.

In honour of the BTS member – who fans lovingly call 'Chim Chim' or 'Jiminie' – who's turning 26 (international age) this 13 October, fans all over the world are throwing a party. From puppy fundraisers to a fire show to a mental health talk, ARMY are going all out.

FUNDRAISERS

One In An Army are holding a campaign to raise funds and awareness for Casa Frida, a refuge in Mexico City that houses and cares for marginalised communities, including the LGBTQIA+ community, with housing, healthcare and more. 

In honour of Jimin's birthday, ARMY from Myanmar have organised a series of projects which include donations to an animal rescue shelter and an organisation that help elderly street vendors. 

Filipino ARMY have also come together to form Project JiminAHA! which aimed to raise funds for AHA! Learning Center, an organisation which helps provide students with the resources they need to pursue an education. The project has raised close to PHP 200,000 and to celebrate, they also put together a cover of Jimin's 'Promise' produced by DJ Joey Santos.

In true Jimin fashion, Bangladeshi ARMY have organised a donation drive called Project Pawmis that promises rabies vaccinations and food for over 100 across the cities of Dhaka and Sylhet. 

ONLINE TALKS

To celebrate Jimin's birthday, ARMY BAYANIHAN are holding a webinar that aims to educate people on HIV and mental health. Inviting a panel of guest speakers, the Philippines-based fan club hoping to get rid the stigma around HIV and mental health, while also raise funds affected by these issues.

What's a K-pop star's birthday without a billboard? And for BTS' Jimin, ARMY did not disappoint. From Ukraine to Seoul and from LED screens to café walls, images and videos of the global pop icon are popping up in cities across the world in celebration of his 26th birthday. Not to mention, there was also a fire show!
