BTS brought Mexico City to a standstill with three explosive sold-out nights of their BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’, turning the city into a festival-like celebration from 7 May to 10 May.
The group’s Mexico City run reportedly drew around 150,000 attendees, with local authorities estimating that tens of thousands more gathered outside the stadium on Days 2 and 3. The overwhelming turnout even prompted temporary road closures as fans packed the surrounding streets in hopes of catching a glimpse of the global superstars.

Throughout the set, BTS powered through a career-spanning performance packed with tracks from their fifth studio album ARIRANG, including fan favourites ‘SWIM’, ‘2.0’, and ‘Hooligan’. The group also treated audiences to massive singalongs for hits like ‘Dynamite’, ‘Butter’, and ‘IDOL’, with the crowd roaring back every lyric across all three nights.
Beyond the scale of the concerts themselves, one of the biggest talking points from the Mexico City stop was BTS’ embrace of local culture. The members frequently interacted with fans in Spanish throughout the show, while a performance of ‘Aliens’ featured dancers in traditional lucha libre masks. During ‘IDOL’, V also sparked a wave of viral reactions online after being spotted enjoying a traditional banderilla mid-performance.

Offstage, the members continued immersing themselves in Mexican culture. On 9 May, Jin, SUGA, Jimin, and Jung Kook attended a lucha libre match at the iconic Arena México, where videos of the members cheering from the front row quickly spread across social media. Mexican wrestling star Místico also made headlines after entering the ring wearing a custom white jacket emblazoned with the BTS logo.
Ahead of the concerts, BTS also met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the Presidential Palace on 7 May following an official invitation from the presidential office. After the meeting, the group greeted fans from the palace balcony, where an estimated crowd of over 50,000 people had gathered to welcome them.

With sold-out shows, city-wide fan turnout, and countless viral moments across social media, BTS’ Mexico City stop proved once again that the group’s global reach extends far beyond the stage.
