Following new COVID-19 restrictions, BTS will no longer be able to attend this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards.

As the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron is spreading across the globe, most countries have started to re-amp their border control and regulations. South Korea, in particular, has issued a 10-day quarantine mandate for all overseas arrival starting Friday, 3 December. 

With BTS currently stationed in the United States to perform their 4-night PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE in LA concerts, as well as make an appearance at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball, the GRAMMY-nominated act will reportedly not be able to make to year's awards ceremony which is happening on Saturday, 11 December.

Here's what we know about Mnet Asian Music Awards 2021

BTS was slated to perform alongside other powerhouse acts like TXT, aespa, NCT 127, ATEEZ, Stray Kids, NCT DREAM, ENHYPEN, Brave Girls, and more. MAMA 2021 will also see the highly anticipated reunion of boy group WANNA ONE, serving as their first time performing together since disbanding in 2019.

The 'Butter' act are also nominated for an array of awards, including Best Male Group, Best Collaboration, Best Dance Performance (Male Group), and Worldwide Fans Choice
