Madz Ofalsa, Route 196's bar supervisor and head staff, is in need of your help.

On January 24 (Sunday), a fundraiser was opened to help cover the medical expenses for Ofalsa's recent hospitalization for his appendectomy and hernia surgery. According to the Inquirer, the bar supervisor was hospitalized on December 29 but was sent back on January 3 until January 10 for another procedure.

“Sabi ng surgeon, nagdikit-dikit na raw ang bituka ko kaya ginawan niya ng paraan para paghiwa-hiwalayin ulit,” Ofalsa, who is now recovering in Bulacan, shares.

According to the report, Ofalsa's first hospital bill was over PHP 94,000 and his second was PHP 54,000. On top of his initial expenses, Ofalsa still has to undergo scheduled checkups and take medicine (costing PHP 250 daily). 

“Nangangailangan po ako ng tulong sa aking mga gastusin sa pagpapagamot ko. Pasensya na po, alam ko po na apektado rin po kayo ng krisis sa mga panahong ito,” Ofalsa says.

Ofalsa, who worked at Route 196 since the '90s, lost his job when the Katipunan venue was forced to shut its doors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
