A haven for alternative music and good vibes, Baybeats is back and this time, it goes online!
A stronghold in Singapore's music scene, the yearly 3-day festival is the place to be to get a glimpse of the country's diverse musical acts and to rock out to some killer tunes. 2020 marks Baybeats' 19th edition which consists of a live, in-person festival on 6 - 8 Nov, as well as a special online edition where we can expect intimate, stripped-down performances from some of the best names in Singapore music.
Baybeats Online is scheduled to take place on 21 - 23 August and will be streamed via the festival's Facebook page and Esplanade Offstage. Every year, Baybeats covers a wide range of talented performers and exceptional musical acts that span across an array of genres. Even as the festival ventures into the digital space, it's no different. This year, the star-studded lineup will perform across five stages, including an Instagram Live after-party called In Bed With Baybeats.
Armed with the mission to bring the good ol' indie alternative experience right to our homes, Baybeats Unplugged will feature pre-recorded acoustic, stripped-down sets filmed from unique places at the Esplanade.
The segment and the entire festival will kick off with actress and singer Annette Lee, who have recently made headlines with her latest single 'Gold'. Joining her will be singer-songwriter LEW, indie pop-rock act Dreebsby, post-psych band Bakers In Space, local favourite Charlie Lim, and many more.
Fans will also be able to catch all the artists after their set for an intimate chat on Instagram Live for the festival segment, In Bed with Baybeats.
To fill up our desire for live music during this season, Baybeats is also hosting Chapalang Sessions, where artists will be performing and jamming live.
On this stage, fans can catch the musical stylings of singer-songwriter-producer YAØ, long-time Baybeats stage alum ANECHOIS, punk-rock band Iman’s League, modern metal band Every Rage I Seek, instrumental rock act hauste and Two Seas, who have curated a specially-made setlist for their first-ever livestream performance.

Bringing more than just lively performances, there will also be an array of panel discussions that touch on topics like the future of music festivals, music consumption in the region, demystifying underground music and many more from some of the industry top thought-leaders. All this and more on Baybeats' Observation Deck.
