The much-awaited rollout of the BTS meal continues across the globe, and it has finally arrived in Indonesia today (9/6). 

Similar to their Malaysian counterparts, Indonesian ARMY (BTS fans) gathered to prepare gift packs for McDonald's crew members as a token of appreciation for their hard work.

Because the meal was only available via drive-thru or delivery, ARMY also anticipated the surge in demand for food delivery riders, and many prepared thank-you cards and gifts in advance.

As of 10 June, a donation campaign to support riders in this hectic period had crossed 151 million rupiah (S$14,031). According to the The Jakarta Post, this amount surpasses the original goal of 107 million rupiah (S$9,942), just two days within the campaign's launch.

However, not all was smooth-sailing on D-Day. Many reported long queues and a waiting time as long as 7 hours. Some ARMY were unable to purchase the meal after McDonald's outlets had to close early due to the overwhelming demand.

Scenes of chaos were also reported at various outlets, with throngs of food delivery riders forming huge crowds as they waited for their orders.

Nevertheless, many Indonesian ARMY still managed to get their hands on the highly anticipated meal. McDonald's Indonesia also took the initiative to separate the paper bag with the BTS logo using clean plastic bags, so that ARMY can keep it as memorabilia.

Moreover, Indonesian fans took part in ShareARMeal, an ARMY-initiated, global campaign that distributes meals to vulnerable communities.

Many Indonesian ARMY have also started ShareARMeal campaigns and fundraisers that tie in with BTS FESTA 2021, which commemorates the global pop sensation's upcoming 8th anniversary. Some fans took to Twitter to trend the #MakanBarengARMY hashtag, which translates to 'Let's Eat Together ARMY'.
