2021 is slowly coming to a close, which also means year-end award shows - one of which is the highly anticipated Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). 

Dubbed as "the original K-pop awards", the Korean awards show has teased its return earlier today (06/10) via Twitter. Known for celebrating the biggest names in Korean music and presenting jaw-dropping live performances, this year's MAMA will be happening on 11 December 2021.

The upcoming ceremony will be hosted by K-pop icon Lee Hyo Ri.

Marking its 12th year, MAMA is launching a special video project – which feature several notable K-pop acts including PSY, EXO's Kai, former 2NE1 members Dara, Minzy, and Park Bom, MAMAMOO's Hwasa, and more – that documents the coveted awards show through the years.

The special project is slated for release on 28 October at 8 PM KST (6 PM JKT, 7 PM PHT/SGT).
