Titled 'Mmmh', it is described to be "a charming straightforward love song that captures his confident attitude" and according to Naver, it will also be an R&B pop song with a simple yet addictive melody on a minimal track.

The first music video teaser for 'Mmmh' was unveiled 26 November, giving fans a little sneak peek of the groovy title track.

The full music video was released on 30 November. Watch it here:

Indubitably, the excitement from fans hit the roof considering that they have been looking forward to this moment since July when SM Entertainment first confirmed that Kai is preparing for his solo album.

As the record is self-titled as KAI () and stylised with a Mandarin character that means ‘open’ when translated, many fans have theorised deeper meanings to the title such as it symbolising the opening of Kai’s solo career, or the opening to new opportunities.

Earlier on in the same day, Baekhyun dropped the news that he is releasing his first Japanese mini-album in 2021. Kai is also the fifth member of EXO to make a solo debut following Baekhyun, Chen, Lay, and Suho.

Leading up to the official album release, teasers have been gradually revealed along the way, view them below.
