EXO’s Chen drops soulful solo single and music video, ‘Hello’ – watch

EXO's Chen gave fans a surprise by announcing his comeback last week. 

On 8 October, EXO revealed the news via their official social media channels that Chen, whose real name is Kim Jong-dae, will be returning with a new solo single ‘Hello’. The track is slated for release on 15 October.

The upcoming fall track marks the third time Chen will be working with composer Kim Jae Hwi, following their previous collaborations on 'Flower' and 'My Dear'. 'Hello' is also described to be a heartwarming Brit Pop song with lyrics that are inspired by wishing peace on others' wellbeing. 

On 13 October, the music video teaser for 'Hello' was released. 

UPDATE (15/10): Chen finally dropped the highly-anticipated solo single 'Hello' along with a new music video that tugged on our heartstrings. Watch below. 

Countless fans were touched by the music video and showed their support via Twitter. 

The new single comes after his last release, Dear My Dear, the second mini-album which came out last year and debuted at No.1 on the physical album charts. He also recently contributed to the OST for K-drama Do You Like Brahms?, with his song ‘Your moonlight’.

With Chen tying the knot and welcoming a daughter earlier this year, fans have speculated the meaning behind the single's cover art.
