Lola Amour release Eraserheads cover 'Shake Yer Head' from Pop Machine and new Demos series with 'Run Away' – listen

Lola Amour have quite a lot to offer this weekend.

To keep their followers full and satisfied during the "community quarantine," the funky Filipino indie-pop act dropped two offerings on streaming platforms. The first, 'Run Away,' a B-side track you'll only find on their YouTube series aptly called Lola Amour Demos: Songs That Didn't Make It To the Studio.

"The Lola Amour Demos are songs that were pitched to the band by either of the members but never really took off into full arrangements for different reasons," vocalist Pio Dumayas tells Bandwagon. "These unmixed demos are made available to fans at their purest states: raw and bare ideas."

And the second, a cover of the Eraserheads classic, 'Shake Yer Head,' which appears on the Pop Machine compilation album. Pop Machine also features re-imaginings by Reese Lansangan, TarsiusMunimuniLeanne & NaaraOh, Flamingo!, and Ciudad.

"The hardest part was choosing a song—there are so many great Eheads songs to choose from, but we wanted to choose one that hasn’t been really covered as much in the past," bassist Raymond King reveals.

He says, "Initially, we weren’t so sure if it was the best song choice, but after hearing everyone’s ideas on the arrangement, we got pretty excited. We actually drew inspiration from Stevie Wonder’s 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours' and sumakto yung vibe nila. It’s a great honor to be part of this and to interpret a song with such powerful lyrics."
