BTS' Jin drops surprise birthday track and music video for 'Super Tuna' – watch

BTS' Jin has a treat for all of his fans.

BTS to take short break to recharge and focus on upcoming Korea concert, new album to start "new chapter"

After being surprised by oceans of hearts and moons by ARMYs at SoFi Stadium on the last day of the PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE in LA concert series, it's Jin's turn to give his fans a gift of his own. For this year's birthday, Jin held a VLive from his hotel room in LA, blew out the candles on his cake, and gave fans a preview of his latest song, 'Super Tuna'.

In his VLive, he also revealed that he worked on the song with Pledis Entertainment producer BUMZU, his collaborator for last year's 'Abyss'. The song was inspired by one of his fishing trips last September, features lyrics, and even asked the staff who were with him to join in for the group vocals.

He mentioned the shark which he shared on Weverse, the one he regrets he should've asked 'Do you know BTS?'

Jin also dropped a music video filmed at the beach which features Jin dancing with HYBE/BigHit Music Performance Directors Lee Byung Eun and Yoon Seong Eun to the new track reminiscent of anime theme songs.

Ahead of the drop, Jin kept saying the music video was "low quality, so don't expect too much". BTS' resident Worldwide Handsome also shared that he consulted the choreography with performance director Son Sung Deuk and asked if it was okay to do something less serious but decided to go for it because "I thought it would be fun!"

A contrast from last year's introspective 'Abyss,' 'Super Tuna' highlights Jin's fun and carefree self, someone who enjoys living in the moment.

Barely an hour after its release, fans have dropped memes, video edits, and fan art of the new earworm.

'Super Tuna' follows the release of 'Yours,' the official theme of Jirisan, which has reached number 1 in 99 countries as of press time.
