From photocards to digital lightsticks, plus exclusive content, here's what you need to know about BTS' "passion with purpose" campaign

BTS are sending out a message to "Live Your Passion With Purpose" to the Philippines in their latest telco campaign.

In an announcement made earlier this year, the global pop group partnered with SMART to support their "goal of inspiring people to live their lives with passion and purpose". Today, the GRAMMY-nominated act launched their campaign with the telecommunications company, which includes a commercial film and microsite, in hopes of encouraging Filipino youths during these trying times. 

BTS share fond memories of Filipino ARMY: "Philippines can't be left out for Southeast Asia tour!"

"On behalf of Smart, we are very honored to have this partnership with BTS that encourages the Filipino youth to keep their faith and continue pursuing their passion and purpose no matter the challenges the lie ahead," said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.


The commercial film sees BTS walking up and down seven sets of stairs, symbolising their ability to defy impossible situations. Designed and modelled after each of the members' individual passions, the commercial features messages of hope and encouragement centered around the themes of passion and purpose. 

RM:"It’s been a while since we met with ARMY and everyone in the Philippines. Let’s meet soon after this long winter is over. I miss you a lot."

Jin: "Smart decisions have always been important to us and seem to have produced good results for us. I will encourage you [to live smarter and live with purpose] so you can only walk the path of happiness."

SUGA: "What makes us move is the ARMY waiting for us."

J-Hope: "When you have a purpose, you have a reason to [live] and it becomes your driving force."

Jimin: "We know very well that you are always sending us messages through social media, uploading videos that cover our songs and dances, and participating in competitions."

V: "No matter how many times you fall, don’t give up and challenge yourself to break [big walls] in your life."

Jung Kook: "I’ll be rooting for you. Please stay healthy."

Featuring BTS' latest hits – 'Dynamite' and 'Life Goes On', the commercial film was shot in Seoul during the global lockdown.

Also part of the group's "Live Your Passion With Purpose" campaign, SMART launched a microsite where SMART subscribers can gain access to exclusive BTS content and be able to use their devices as a digital lightstick. The site can only be accessed by SMART data via mobile devices. 

SMART will also be launching exclusive photocards as part of the campaign. Further details are slated to be announced soon. 

The SMART team also shared that they hope to do a virtual show soon to help bring fans closer to BTS.
