Coachella 2022 weekend 2 highlights – Billie Eilish, aespa, Joji, Megan Thee Stallion, and more

Living up to the hype that it created for itself during its first weekend, the renowned music stage, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, rounded up its 2022 series on the highest of highs.

The festival streamed all weekend long, across three livestreams for each of their stages and was the hot topic across social media sites. Releasing even special behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interviews with fan-favourite musicians, Coachella guaranteed a good time and undoubtedly delivered.

For all those still reeling from the amazing shows put on, reminisce the highlights from the flawless weekend 2 of the celebrated festival!

Harry Styles

BANDWAGON TV

Harry Styles has proven that he is an icon through and through.

Staging a reunion with 'Juice' singer, Lizzo, the dynamic duo sung their hearts out to the iconic 'I will Survive' and a modern-day rendition of the beloved 'What Makes You Beautiful', an ever-welcome nod to Harry's days in One Direction

Billie Eilish

Though the youngest headliner in the history of Coachella, to dismiss 20-year-old Billie Eilish for her age or assume a lack of experience is to play the fool. Dominating the stage for a 90-minute set, the 'Happier Than Ever' singer-songwriter kept things pumping with incredible stamina.

However, what truly stole the show (and the internet's hearts) was the surprise cameo by Paramore's own Hayley Williams. Together with her brother, FINNEAS, and the emblematic emo-pop vocalist of the early 2000's, Bilie Eilish rekindled memories of younger days with their performance of 'Misery Business'.

aespa

The 'Savage' hitmakers were the talk of the town even before setting their feet on the prestigious music festival's stage. As the first K-pop girl group to be performing on the Coachella main stage, aespa showed the audiences in the California desert how they party.

Performing hits from their discography as well as an exclusive first-listen to their unreleased song 'Life's Too Short', the quartet made it hard to fathom that they've only made their debut in 2020.

Doja Cat

And the most elaborate performance of Coachella goes to Doja Cat

Showcasing multiple costume changes, tight-knit choreography, and an overall jaw-dropping stage, the sensual and petite 'Woman' didn't miss a single beat during her awe-inspiring stage. The golden-piped Doja Cat left audiences astounded and suggested the undeniable charisma of a possible future headliner.

Karol G

Having been praised all over social media this weekend for her stage that honored Latino and Latina musical acts, Karol G nearly set the desert on fire when she brought out the likes of J Balvin and Becky G

Known for her catchy hits and immaculate performances, the 'MAMIII' singer even got emotional during her set, proudly representing her roots as she yelled, "We Latinos do it like this!".

Megan Thee Stallion

Turning up in a bodacious sea-green bodysuit, Hot Girl Meg spat fire for yet another weekend.

After debuting her latest single 'Plan B' during the first run of music festival last week, Megan Thee Stallion graced the stage with her back-up dancers, who donned matching silver outfits, and served some of her hottest hits and most daring dance moves.

Brockhampton

For loyal fans of the "best boy band since One Direction", Brockhampton's performance this weekend was a bittersweet one. Led by the artistic direction of its members and brought together by the visionary Kevin Abstract, the team called the stage their "LAST SHOW EVER".

Nonetheless, the band appeared in matching varsity jackets to perform a full medley of their hit songs before taking a long bow, their last one until their indefinite reunion in the future.

Caroline Polachek

'Bunny Is A Rider' hitmaker, Caroline Polachek, channeled the energy of a siren during her Weekend 2 performance.

Alluring and irresistibly enchanting, the American singer-songwriter donned a sheer red two-piece and wowed the audiences with her immaculate live vocals. Conjuring only her best for the audiences of Coachella, Caroline is undoubtedly the more underrated performers that had graced the prestigious event's stage this year.

Joji

Much to fans' displeasure, the 'Sanctuary' musician was hit with multiple obstacles, in the form of technical difficulties and the artist not feeling well, during the prior weekend. Unable to give his best a week ago, Joji was at his 200% during Weekend 2, commanding the stage with fervour and overwhelming stage presence.

Surprisingly more intimate than one would expect an over 100,000-crowd concert to be, Joji sauntered onstage with ease and expertise, dishing out fan interactions and showing his sincere gratefulness for all the love.

The Weeknd & Swedish House Mafia

Leave it to The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia to receive resounding echos from the notably tough crowd of Coachella

In an almost hypnotic performance of the soloist's trending track, 'Save Your Tears', fans belted at the top of their lungs to the lyrics and stripped-down backing track whereas in a surreal performance of 'Don't You Worry, Child', the three musicians of Swedish House Mafia raised goosebumps and hairs in the ultimate way to round off the year's edition of the coveted festival.
