Gloc-9 and Raymund Marasigan tackle the struggles Filipinos face in lockdown with new single 'Gera Gera' – watch

Raymund Marasigan and Gloc-9 have released an incredibly powerful and timely collab.

On Thursday (04/23), the two collaborators dropped, 'Gera Gera,' a new single that came together during the enhanced community quarantine that's put Luzon on hold to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.

"I had a chorus and a bridge recorded and was looking for someone to write the verses," Marasigan tells Bandwagon about how 'Gera Gera' came to be. "I sent it to Gloc-9. I knew we were on the same page when he sent me a quote from Nina Simone. He wrote the verses in a couple of days and sent me a cellphone recording, because he didn’t have access to a studio."

Marasigan adds that recording the track was "easily sorted out" and that coming up with a visual for it was simply an extra idea they shared. He says, "Both of us are not filmmakers so we were just winging it independently in our respective homes. We had to reshoot a couple of times before we got what we were going for."
