[UPDATE 21 NOVEMBER 2021]: Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be joining BTS for their performance of the 'Butter' remix citing an "unexpected personal matter".

In a surprise announcement, the American Music Awards revealed that the two chart-topping acts will be coming together on the AMAs stage for the world premiere performance of 'Butter' on 21 November.

The likes of breakout pop star Olivia Rodrigo and Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny are also set to perform at the annual awards show, with BTS joining Coldplay for a performance of 'My Universe'.

BTS and Megan Thee Stallion met in New York last September and are both nominated for numerous AMAs this year including Artist of the Year and Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist respectively.

The upcoming performance comes ahead of BTS' first in-person concerts since 2019 - a sold-out 4-night residency at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California later this month. The last day of PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE LA will be livestreamed globally via Venewlive.
