In an announcement made earlier today (21 November), the American rapper stated that "due to unexpected personal matter", she will not be attending the coveted awards show. The Good News act was slated to perform with BTS for the first-ever live rendition of their 'Butter' remix

In a statement she posted via Twitter, Megan says, "Hotties. I was so excited to go to the AMAs and perform with BTS, but due to an unexpected personal matter, I can no longer attend I’m so sad! I really can’t wait to hit the stage with my guys and perform 'Butter' real soon!"

Megan Thee Stallion's remix of BTS' 'Butter' dropped earlier this August, and followed several other remixes of the dance-pop anthem. 

BTS will still be hitting the AMA stage this 21 November for a performance of 'Butter', as well as a performance with Coldplay for their collaborative song 'My Universe'

Megan Thee Stallion is nominated for three categories at this year's AMAs, including Favourite Trending Song for 'Body', Favourite Female Hip-Hop Artist, and Favourite Hip-Hop Album for Good News. 

While BTS is nominated for the coveted Artist Of The Year, as well as Favourite Pop Duo/Group, and Favourite Pop Song for 'Butter'.
