Mayonnaise team up with Raymund Marasigan for new collab 'Nais Kitang Saktan/Tama Na Yan' – listen

Mayonnaise just dropped another single.

While trapped indoors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Filipino rock band released their collab with Raymund Marasigan called 'Nais Kitang Saktan/Tama Na Yan' via Yellow Room Music Philippines on Tuesday (05/05).

The story behind 'Nais Kitang Saktan/Tama Na Yan' goes back to the planning of Mayonnaise's eighth studio album in late 2019. Frontman Monty Macalino reached out to Marasigan about collaborating, but things didn't start flowing until the enhanced community quarantine happened.

Macalino says that Marasigan contacted him during the lockdown with an idea for a song. "Lagyan ko daw ng guitars and vocals. So that was 'Nais Lang Kitang Saktan,'" Macalino tells Bandwagon in a message. "He produced the song tapos linagyan ko lang ng gitara and additional lyrics."

In his message, Macalino adds, "Then sabi ko sa kanya send ko na rin yung song na na-mention ko before na collab sana for the album which is yung 'Tama Na Yan.' Sa 'Tama Na Yan' linagyan naman nya ng drums samples synth. Tapos pinag-combine ko yung songs kasi they share the same BPM."

GIGS ARE CANCELLED, HERE'S HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE MUSICIANS

Mayonnaise's new offering follows the unveiling of 'Pahirapan' with I Belong to the Zoo last March. In April, they held a digital concert with I Belong to the Zoo, Madeline, Kuatro Kantos, Suddenly Monday, and Julia for the benefit of Yellow Room's road crew and their families.

Prior to the lockdown over Metro Manila, Marasigan joined Sandwich and Moonstar88 for a special out of town gig in Batangas for Campfire Sessions.
