Every week, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.
We provide the context, they provide the sounds.
Experimental electronic producer blankverse popped up out of nowhere last year with an incredible debut EP entitled x | s (read our track-by-track guide here). It was so good in fact, that we actually named it as the best Singaporean EP of 2015. The solo moniker of Isa Foong (also a member of progressive art-rock outfit sub:shaman) has since gone from an unknown quantity to a project with high expectations - and so far - blankverse has never disappointed.
Recent remixes for MONSTER CAT and Deon have been met with acclaim while standout outings everywhere from Good Times to The Great Escape have turned more than a few heads. With a slew of future releases up his sleeves (including his work with Syndicate and Uniqlo), we confidently turned to the surging Dunce-affiliated producer for the 50th edition of the Bandwagon Mix. Consisting of everything from Frank Ocean and Death Grips to his own originals and a long-lost Izaak Stern cut, this incredible mix is certainly befitting of the special occasion.
